Calcium Is For The Birds You can help the birds by offering them egg shells. According to a report by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, it's a good idea to offer a calcium supplement for wild birds. You can do so in an earth friendly way with egg shells. It's simple: rinse out shells, bake for 20 minutes at 250 degrees, cool, crush and offer shells on a platform feeder or on the ground. It's economical and eco friendly too.
